Liquid11 to Launch Unique DVD Locking System in US

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Liquid11 has announced the much-awaited launch of its path breaking DVD locking and billing system – DVD Pay.

The solution will be released in the U.S. next month and makes use of a unique algorithm to offers the most secure means to lock DVD video content, thereby helping companies generate higher revenues from DVD sales.

Liquid11, a privately owned company, is based in Suffolk, UK, specializes in advanced SMS (Short Message Service) and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) services.

With DVDPay, customers will be able to lock DVD video content on a standard DVD. In doing so, they will be able to prevent unauthorized access to the content. To access the content, the viewer has to acquire a unique PIN code, either for free or at a charge.

For the solution, Liquid11 has collaborated with one of the US's largest "billing by phone" companies, Lexus Communications to offer local billing in the US and assist Liquid11 in marketing the product.

Bryn Thompson, Product Manager, commented, "DVDPay is the fastest growing adopted technology for locked DVD cover mount content in the U.K. We offer increased security for content owners and distributors over any other delivery method, which allows not only for increased revenues but also the opportunity to use this technology for customer registration, content restriction and customer loyalty programs. With our worldwide patent pending rights we can now offer this technology to customers globally."

"Our clients have seen strong residual income from DVD sales and content owners feel secure that content cannot be accesses without prior payment ensuring revenue streams remain buoyant whilst providing our clients with invaluable consumer profiling data," David Morris, Liquid11's DVDPay Sales Manager, was quoted as saying. "We are looking forward to the launch in the U.S.A., our first customer will be distributing DVDs in nearly all states, which will give DVDPay strong exposure."

"We have been fortunate to find a company that has such a good fit with Liquid11's current structure. Together we are confident that DVDPay will become a regularly used product in homes all over the U.S.A," Morris added.
