One of the technology leaders in the exploding market for touch enabled devices, N-trighas enhanced its DuoSense single capacitive touch technology to include multitouch capabilities, which will be available for OEM integration in May of 2008.
While making things easier, Multitouch allows mobile computers to recognize multiple simultaneous touch points, so one can use more than one finger at once to manipulate images on a computer screen.
Simplifying complicated tasks, such as zooming in and out, scrolling up and down, and rotating images it allows one to use the intuitive and natural gestures of fingertips instead of the mouse and keyboard.
N-trig’s multitouch uses capacitive touch and not resistive touch, enabling the best touch experience in any input device for the personal computing industry. In addition, you can still use the pen as well as your fingers to interact with the computer screen. The pen enables you to jot down notes and send off emails quickly, casually, and on the move.
“Unlike many technologies that have a subtle effect, multitouch makes an immediate impression on people, creating an instant ‘wow’ effect,” Amihai Ben-David, CEO of N-trig said in a press release.
“It changes the way you interact with your computer, enriching your experience and enhancing touch usability. We’re always moving forward at N-trig and trying to give people the ultimate experience when using their personal computing device, and multitouch is where the future of computing is headed.”
