Ality has said it will be showcasing its WiFi digital photo frame series, the Wireless PIXXA at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES ( News - Alert)) 2008 this week.
The Wireless PIXXA enables people to share photos directly to a digital display through an IM application. It is an 8 inch digital LCD screen, very much like a photo frame with WiFi ( News - Alert) capabilities, and includes an intuitive, user-friendly interface and rechargeable battery.
The availability of multimedia libraries customized to hold content according to different household members’ preferences allow personalized settings. This is possible by enabling multiple user accounts in the Wireless PIXXA.
“With a sleek, minimalist design and expanded features, Wireless PIXXA takes the popularity of digital photo frames one step further with Internet connectivity and photo-sharing capabilities that make this a real-time display and communication tool for cherished memories,” said William Wong, CEO of Ality. “This product satisfies the tastes of digital enthusiasts who want something more than a static display, and it is at home in any room.”
The features of the Wireless PIXXA digital photo frame include Photo Messenger, Live Calendar, and Live News. Photo Messenger enables users to send and receive digital photos through the Internet from a computer or from PIXXA to PIXXA frame. It further allows users to chat through the digital photo frame, thanks to PIXXA’s WiFi capabilities.
The Live Calendar feature allows users to synchronize their schedules with online calendar Web sites and keep up their appointments by consulting the Wireless PIXXA without using a computer. It further allows attachment of photos of persons or occasions to specific dates.
With the Wireless PIXXA digital photo frame, updated news regarding weather, sports, traffic, stock quotes, and more, can be selectively accessed through the Live News feature.
The Ality Online Photo Messenger Web site allows Wireless PIXXA users to register for special photo-sharing services. It includes 50 MB of photo storage space, which can hold up to 600 photos. Users can organize and share digital photos with others. Avatars designed according to personal preferences can be used to identify a person in the Web site. Ality online also resizes photos for efficient exchange with different digital photo frame settings.
Greeting cards and Invitations for special occasions can be sent directly to the Wireless PIXXA digital photo frame, which would alert users as per schedule allowing personalized wireless distribution.
