Wasp Barcode Technologies has announced the launch of its WWS500 Freedom Cordless Barcode Scanner.
Stene Coffman, president of Wasp Barcode Technologies, said in a press release, “We created the WWS500 to fulfill the needs of our small business customers, who wanted the features of our top-of-the-line Freedom scanners but simply could not afford their higher prices. With this new scanner, price will no longer be a barrier to cordless, feature-filled scanning.”
The WWS500 Freedom Scanner offers wireless scanning and the scanner itself is light weight and robust. It makes use of Bluetooth technology enabling it to communicate with a PC or a Bluetooth capable mobile device.
All that a user needs to do is to plug-in the Bluetooth adapter to their PC’s USB port. The user can also use the built-in HID Bluetooth of a mobile device. This arrangement allows the usage of the scanner even at distances of 160 feet away from the PC according to Wasp Barcode Technologies.
The WWS500 scanner provided with a CCD scanning engine can capture data accurately even at distances of 10 inches from any kind of item at considerable speed. The scanner is capable of reading all the popular linear (1D) barcodes.
The handle of the scanner encloses the rechargeable Lithium-ion battery which has a long battery life which can last for nearly 25,000 scans made continuously. Encased in an ABS ( News - Alert) plastic casing the robust scanner can work even after a drop from a height of 5 feet.
The WWS500 Freedom Scanner is suitable for large stores or outlets which handle bulky items which need to be scanned at check out. It comes in handy at business printing shops where jobs are handled in steps which require tracking and scanning. The scanner can be used in pharmacy and healthcare applications especially places where things are sent and received besides libraries and tool rooms said the company in a statement.
