Huawei ( News - Alert) Technologies is now officially making the Huawei M318 available for MetroPCS Communications customers. The move makes the M318 Huawei’s first cell phone available to the North American market. There are reportedly more Huawei devices which will soon be made available.
“Huawei is proud to announce the release of the M318 and the accompanying relationship with MetroPCS.” said Huawei USA’s EVP Carl Liu. “As one of the leading CDMA operators in North America, MetroPCS is a perfect partner to launch this feature packed handset. We look forward to continuing a relationship with MetroPCS and following up this launch with a suite of exciting Huawei mobile phone products.”
Featuring a sleek design made specifically for MetroPCS customers, the Huawei M318 boasts text messaging capabilities, as well as speaker phone, a 1.5-inch 65K TFT color display, WAP 2.0 for faster web browsing; BREW for easier downloads; and 72-chord ring tones.
The devices measures 3.54 x 1.77 x 0.7in and weighs 3.2oz. It also features 5MB of built-in memory. It will be made immediately available in select MetroPCS markets.
