mywaves Socializes Mobile Video

mywaves (News - Alert), a rapidly-growing mobile video destination has launched a major release of its free mobile video service that was created to “open a new world of possibilities” for its users. Using this new service, users can showcase their entertainment interests, connect to their friends and the mywaves community and share their favorites — all from their mobile handsets. The company has come up with a completely new version of its popular mobile video service and loaded it with new features.



 
The new release from mywaves lets users to create and share their profiles. These profiles provide information about the likes and dislikes of the user, and also lets others know, which channels they like. Users will also have the facility to create share and promote their ‘favorites’ channel and advocate their favorite Web video clips. To enable communication between other users, the company has included chat facilities in the new version. The company has also introduced new geo-targeting capability that serves up relevant and regional content to people based on where they’re tuning in.
 
With over 4.5 million monthly unique visitors, mywaves has amassed the largest mobile video audience in the world since its consumer launch one year ago. The company has customers in more than 175 countries who access over 400,000 channels of video that include professional programming, user-generated content and personal videos. The company believes that the new social networking features of the service will propel itself to be one of the largest and most active mobile communities in the world.
