Spidermail Intros 'Revolutionary' Product to Ensure Safety of Children Online

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Spidermail, a new broadband provider, is all set to launch a product that it claims will revolutionize online child safety. The company offers a new service that surpasses parental control systems, which are vulnerable to unscrupulous Web sites and easily bypassed by increasingly tech-savvy children.

The company points out that the state-of-the-art filters of this unique service are built into the Internet service and are centrally administered by Spidermail’s experts who constantly update the system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Upon signing up to Spidermail Broadband, each family member will be issued a username and password which they will use to access the Internet. This will ensure that the children can only access material that is appropriate for their age group. However, the service doesn’t restrict all the children to the same level and older children will have greater freedom to explore.

Boasting 8Mbps and unlimited content for £24.99 a month, the safe and fast new service comes with a free laptop and a 24 month contract.

According to Shahrokh Nikkhah, chairman and CEO of Spidermail, it is not easy for parents and teachers to ensure their children are unable to see inappropriate content online. At the same time they want them to be able to take advantage of the incredible educational and entertainment options the internet provides.

“Spidermail offers a unique service that protects children at the very front line of the internet while allowing them to explore and grow online,” said Nikkhah in a statement.

“We have had great feedback so far - everyone who uses us loves us,” he added.

The service has already been rolled out in schools across the West Midlands and Leicestershire.
