Cricket Communications ( News - Alert), Inc., the operating subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc., and a provider of unlimited wireless services, has announced the availability of the Motorola ( News - Alert) ROKR Z6m, a slim, music-integrated, slider phone for Cricket customers.
T. Scott Edwards, senior vice president of marketing at Cricket, believes that with its bold design and robust feature set, Motorola ROKR is just what his company’s customers are looking for.
“The handset comes loaded with useful features that we think our customers will appreciate, especially the integrated music player. This serves as a phone and an MP3 player in one sleek package. The ROKR is a stylish, iconic handset that delivers a full music package wrapped in a head-turning design,” he said in a press release.
The phone features a QVGA display, a 2.0 megapixel camera, a 3.5 mm headset jack connection, USB 2.0 high-speed connectivity, video capture and playback, integrated Bluetooth  Class 2 wireless technology.
In addition, it comes with Bluetooth stereo support of Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP). Also, the Motorola ROKR supports removable memory of up to 2GB.
According to Edwards, the Motorola ROKR Z6m is ideal for music lovers with an integrated music player that supports a variety of file formats. He explained that the ROKR is data capable, supporting Cricket’s unlimited Mobile Web, which allows customers to browse news, entertainment, sports, and chat, and personalize their phones with ringtones and graphics.
The device is also expected to allow customers to download games and applications with Cricket Games and applications. The phone is available at select Cricket retail stores and Cricket dealers for $299.99.
Cricket is a wireless service that offers consumers and local businesses a flat-rate unlimited service over the all-digital CDMA2000 1X and 1xEV-DO wireless network. In addition, Cricket offers customers access to mobile applications such as unlimited text, instant and picture messaging, Mobile Web, popular games, ringtones and wallpapers.
