Elfiq Networks has released two new models of its Link Load Balancer appliances built on a next generation hardware platform named the E Series, according to a PRWeb news report.
"The exciting new E Series models are based on the Elfiq enhanced hardware platforms to bring a greater performance/price value and advanced functionalities like the LAN failover in the market place. Because of Elfiq's unique transparent operation, the LAN failover allows traffic to pass through the Elfiq unit even if it is turned off. More E series models will be launched in 2008 to continue in our efforts to supply our customers with leading products," Jean Pascal Hebert, Vice-President Business Development of Elfiq Networks, was quoted as saying in the report.
The Elfiq LB-1500E is a new rackmount entry-level Link Load Balancer that supports up to 8 links and 75 Mbps of throughput. In addition to this, it offers support for hardware LAN failover and consumes less than 25W of power. LB-1500E is very competitively priced and represents the new generation of entry-level playing field, since it supports Elfiq's immensely popular SitePathMPTX technology for firewall/VPN resilience and GeoLink geographical link load balancing.
The Elfiq LB-4000E has been developed for datacenters with 8 gigabit ports (copper) and 2 SFP fiber connectors in a compact 1U design. The LB-4000E has been licensed with two virtual instances (up to five) of the Link Load Balancer. It also includes three pairs of programmable LAN failover ports. The powerful solution enables users to handle more than a gigabit per second of throughput, thereby addressing the stringent requirements of data centers across the world.
The Elfiq Link Load Balancer implementation is the simplest solution available on the market, because it doesn’t require any IP address migration or changes to the firewalls/routers. The solution ensures optimal access for users’ network and applications. It offers business continuity and maximizes the multi-homed network throughput at the same time. The Load Balancer solution also offers advanced functionalities, such as geographic load balancing and VPN multiplexing, for disaster recovery projects and business’ IP services.
The Elfiq LB-1500E and LB-4000E models will be available starting from September 28th 2007.
