Cash on Phone Recycle Encourages Purchase of Sony Ericsson Phone Gadgets

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

Sony Ericsson launched an innovative phone gadget called LiveView, which acts as a small secondary display that is wirelessly linked to a user’s Android phone. The device allows the smartphone user to read text messages, view incoming calls as well, as Facebook (News - Alert) and Twitter updates, without actually having to handle the phone. With the launch of this gadget, users are keen to upgrade to new smartphone’s even though they haven’t outgrown the existing ones. So as to encourage this action, companies like Compare and Recycle are paying good money on old phones around the country.

The LiveView gadget leverages the Bluetooth technology to connect with the primary device and can be used to control most basic smartphone functions like music, calendar reminders and RSS feeds. Moving forward, Sony Ericsson (News - Alert) is also planning to work with other applications to integrate LiveView functionality directly into them. With Android technology gaining market share, Sony Ericsson has great confidence in Android and hence slowly moving towards Android OS by replacing the old Symbian (News - Alert) technology for next-generation devices. Recently, Sony’s Xperia X8 was shipping with Android technology at a low price of approx $315, which is by far the most affordable, compared to other smartphone device.

Mobile Consumers are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with constant advancement in technology and the rising availability of new mobile gadgets. However the concept of mobile phone recycling is proving to be quite beneficial with consumer earning some cash out of their old phones. In countries like the U.K, constant phone upgrades are offered fair prices on old models and unused phones, even though the phones may be in a non-working condition. Compare and Recycle offers as much as $55 on older models such as Sony Ericsson C920 along with added perks such as free shipping, payment timelines and guidelines; thus enabling the customer to make informed decision about selling the mobile phones to appropriate vendor.

Customers are making use of the additional cash from mobile recycling to get hold of next generation mobile phones and gadgets on the market, either Sony Ericsson LiveView or Experia or any other brand of their choice. Also by recycling old mobile phones consumer are not only assisting in preserving the environment but also help in providing refurbished phones to developing countries.
