Fulcrum Biometrics Offering New EikonTouch USB Fingerprint Readers from UPEK

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Fulcrum Biometrics, a global distributor of biometric identification technologies, has announced reseller agreement with UPEK to resell a wide range of biometric fingerprint readers and modules, including the new EikonTouch USB fingerprint reader product line.

UPEK, a provider of enterprise and consumer biometric fingerprint solutions, launched EikonTouch in November of last year as an extension to its EikonUSB fingerprint peripherals.

EikonTouch fingerprint readers utilize UPEK's one-touch, placement sensors to deliver highly accurate fingerprint authentication, compliance with government standards, and a very simple and friendly user experience.

The fingerprint readers are also capable of offering precise image quality for highly accurate fingerprint authentication.

The new EikonTouch 700 provides FIPS 201 certified image quality for use in government applications and multi-user solutions that require both high biometric performance and ease-of-use.

Also, the EikonTouch 300, with SteelCoat protective coating, is designed for use in rugged environments and for cost-sensitive applications requiring one-touch authentication, company officials said.

A provider to the U.S. Government, Fulcrum (News - Alert) will resell EikonTouch 300 and EikonTouch 700, as well as Eikon swipe USB readers and other fingerprint modules.

“We are pleased to offer the proven, high-quality UPEK product line to our customers in the U.S. and around the world,” said Ken Nosker, president of Fulcrum Biometrics, in a statement.

“The new EikonTouch fingerprint readers offer the level of quality and usability required by our customers in both government and the private sector. And with the new SteelCoat option, UPEK offers a more rugged sensor for tougher environments.”
