With identity theft and fraud on the increase, the financial and healthcare industries have been looking for newer products that will offer that extra layer of protection; and, VoiceVault’s voice biometrics solution appears to have provided the security that these institutions are looking for.
In fact, the international acceptance of VoiceVault’s voice biometrics appears to have been so successful that the company announced the establishment of another milestone -- the simultaneous launch of its voice biometric mobile application in 40 countries by a top tier global financial institution.
The challenges that a global rollout brings in its wake are tremendous. Not only is it essential for the app to pass legal review in each of the 40 countries, but it has to meet the required user consent legislation as deemed fit by the regulatory authorities in each country.
VoiceVault’s voice biometric identity verification passed these rigorous tests and privacy requirements in all the countries, where it was deployed, with flying colors.
"This is the first voice biometric mobile application that has obtained global regulatory acceptance and this has been achieved while maintaining very stringent accuracy levels demanded by the financial services industry," said Julia Webb, vice president, sales and marketing at VoiceVault
Providing critical high security multifactor authentication support for multimillion dollar financial transactions, the app uses voice biometrics for securing commercial banking ACH payments and wire transfers.
VoiceVault uses an individual`s vocal characteristics for biometric identity verification over the phone, Web, or via mobile and smart device applications, relying on the simple fact that no two voices are exactly the same.
Currently, the Android (News - Alert) and iOS smartphone and tablet application that is doing international rounds uses the company’s voice biometrics as part of a multifactor authentication process.
Webb has promised many more such international facing apps in the near future.
