Lumidigm recently announced that the bioLock software from realtime North America Inc. will now be supporting its unique fingerprint readers. realtime North America is a certified SAP (News - Alert) Software partner and a provider of biometric security and identity management software systems.
In a statement, Thomas Neudenberger, COO of realtime North America Inc., said, “Overall we are very impressed with the performance of the multispectral imaging technology in Lumidigm’s fingerprint sensors — they work in the most challenging environments and with difficult populations where other sensors can struggle. Lumidigm biometrics should be very appealing choices for SAP banking and other mission-critical applications that need strong authentication across a diverse demographic.”
realtime’s bioLock software solution has been designed to help in the managing of identities of SAP users using biometrics with the aim of mitigating insider fraud within critical areas such as inventory shrinkage, payroll, financial fraud or data loss. To ensure a comprehensive application, the bioLock software solution has been developed to be compatible with both readers in desktop USB versions and in kiosk applications. Leveraging the bioLock system users can easily manage the log-on, monitor and control and allow re-authentication at granular levels within an SAP system to maintain complete compliance thereby reducing instances of fraud.
Bill Spence, Lumidigm VP of North America Sales, said, “This integration into SAP via bioLock will be an important way we serve our enterprise customers in markets such as banking. These applications demand the performance only Lumidigm’s biometric technology can deliver. Being able to provide a more complete authentication solution to SAP users makes it simpler, faster, and less expensive for them to drive higher reliability and security into their infrastructures.”
The bioLock software solution currently is the only biometric system that is SAP-certified. Lumidigm conducted a successful demonstration of the solution at SAPHILA 2012, largest customer-run SAP show in South Africa.
