Tobii Technology and Cedrus Join Forces to Release StimTracker for Tobii TX300 Eye Tracker

By Deepika Mala, TMCnet Contributor

Tobii Technology, a company specializing in eye tracking and eye control, has recently collaborated with Cedrus, the provider of stimuli and response hardware for psychological studies, to launch the StimTracker for Tobii TX300 Eye Tracker.

An extremely precise synchronization and timing solution, the StimTracker enhances the accuracy of data collection and insights for scientific research, in studies involving EEG or other biometric data.

When used with the Tobii TX300 Eye Tracker and Tobii Studio, the StimTracker offers researchers with a reliable and accurate solution, which helps them obtain deeper and more comprehensive data on subjects' reactions to visual stimuli.

In a press release, Tom Englund, president of Tobii Analysis, said, "This is a huge development for the psycho-physiological research community as we are now able to provide the most precise correlation between screen stimuli, subject gaze patterns and internal biometric reactions."

He further added, "With this solution, researchers will also gain greater insight into studies that require high temporal resolution, such as reaction time tests and subliminal single-frame stimuli tests, as well as the ability to more accurately formulate their conclusions."

StimTracker for Tobii TX300 Eye Tracker uses an analog light sensor and provides a fast, robust and reliable solution. This helps remove timing errors that arise due to delays in operating systems, graphics cards or flexible pixel refresh algorithms. Its high timing accuracy enables researchers to know exactly where a research subject is looking when certain effects in the human body occur.

Officials said that StimTracker also allows for the synchronization of screen stimuli and eye-tracking data with a broad spectrum of data types, such as EEG, heart rate, motion detection, NIRS, respiration rate, skin conductance, light and sound.

In related news, Tobii Technology and SeeFront, adeveloper of proprietary glasses-free 3D technology, have teamed up to develop a glasses-free 3D version of the world's first eye- controlled arcade game, Tobii EyeAsteroids.
