3Com announced that both its standard and next-gen enhanced Total
Control 1000 Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTS) have been awarded full
DOCSIS 1.0 qualification by Cable Television Laboratories (CableLabs).

interoperability testing between 10 Gbps (OC-192c/STM-64) optical and IP
networking platforms. Direct connectivity between CIENA's MultiWave
CoreStream intelligent optical transport system and Juniper's M160
full-performance core router makes 10 Gbps next-gen optical networks,
delivering pure 10G IP services over glass, a reality for service providers.
Interoperability testing included the successful passing of 10 G IP data
packets when the Juniper Networks M160 router was directly connected to the
CIENA 10G CoreStream intelligent opticalk transport system.

Cayman Parnters With Jetstream Communications
Cayman Systems has announced a strategic agreement with Jetstream
Communications to offer end-to-end voice over DSL. Cayman will license
Jetstream's VoiceBand messaging protocol to enable Cayman's ADSL 3220H and
3220HW to be interoperable with Jetstream's CPX-1000 broadband voice
services platform. This integrated access solution will allow service
providers to deploy extra voice lines over a single DSL connection to a home
or somall office. With this new capability, Cayman's 3220H and 3220HW will
enable service providers to offer high-speed ADSL Internet access and
multiple POTS lines over one existing copper telephone line.

Siemens Announces optiPoint IP Phone
Siemens Information and Communication Networks has introduced the
optiPoint 100 Advance IP telephone, representing a phone that enables calls
to be made over IP-based networks using the new SIP standard. SIP-based
telephones, soft clients, communications servers, and gateways can be used
in enterprise communications systems as well as in carrier-scale IP

Lucent Technologies has announced a wider choice of certified
outdoor antennas for the ORINOCO Outdoor Router system. These new antennas,
the 24 dBi Directional Parabolic Grid, the 12 dBi Directional Wide Angle,
and the 10 dBi Omni Directional make it possible for enterprises and ISPs to
provide high-speed, wireless networking and Internet access with ranges of
up to 26 kilometers (point-to-point). They join the existing family of
ORINOCO antenna - 14 dBi Directional Yagi, and the 7 dBi Omni Directional
