Agilent Enhances VoIP Capabilities
Agilent Technologies has introduced two test systems for developing
and deploying VoIP networks. The Agilent Telegra VQT 2.0 now offers echo
measurement capabilities, allowing engineers to measure the impact of echo
noise distortion on QoS levels for next-gen IP-based network devices and
services. The Telegra VQT is also available with PAMS speech quality
measurement. The Perceptual Analysis Measurement System (PAMS) uses a
similar perceptual model as PSQM/PSQM+, and shares the purpose of providing
a repeatable, objective means for measuring perceived speech quality.

Hammer Releases VoIP Test System 2.0
Hammer Technologies has announced release 2.0 of their VoIP Test
System. Release 2.0 is a product for carrier-class gateways that integrates
up to 480 ports of full-coverage ITU standard voice quality analysis (PSQM)
with SS7, ISDN, and fax in a single, integrated test platform. Release 2.0
incorporates many enhancements to Hammer's VoIP test suite. In addition to
SS7, improved PSQM density, and fax, this release incorporates new levels of
user programmability, additional ISDN variants, enhanced scheduling, remote
control, reporting, and monitoring features, as well as the Call Profiler
introduced with the Hammer DS33 test system.

GMS Announces ENET VIII
General Micro Systems (GMS) has announced ENET VIII, an
eight-channel Fast Ethernet controller on a PMC card. Utilizing Intel 82559
Enthernet controllers packaged in micro Ball Grid Arrays, the ENET VIII
delivers twice the port density of other PMC cards. The ENET VII can be used
with any single-board computer that provides PMC sites, including General
Micro Systems' own Pentium-based VMEbus and CompactPCI-based CPU boards.

Mitel Unveils Data Integrated Voice Applications
Architecture
Mitel Communications Systems has announced its Data Integrated Voice
Applications architecture for the extended enterprise. The architecture
provides the foundation for delivering software-only IP business
applications, and is the bridge between Mitel's existing PBX platforms and
its next-generation IP solutions. Mitel has also announced the Ipera 2000, a
fully featured VoIP solution for small and medium businesses, branch
offices, and departmental adjuncts. Mitel's architectural approach is based
on a switched IP core that provides a full range of IP values, including
scalability, robust switching, and routing. Mitel's IP architecture provides
the five-nine of reliability PBX call control, and integrated applications
including messaging and ACD.

Shoreline Announces Voice Communications System 2.0

Redback Networks Announces Next-Gen Platform

CopperCom Enhances CopperComplete DSL Product Family
CopperCom, a Silicon Valley company that is Giving Voice to DSL, is
extending its leadership in end-to-end broadband packetized Voice over DSL (VoDSL)
with the introduction of advanced 16 Kbps toll-quality voice compression
technology in its CopperComplete DSL product family. Both the CopperCom
Gateway and CopperCom MXR (IAD) will feature this capability, which
maximizes bandwidth utilization by enabling up to four times the number of
voice lines to be optimized for toll-quality voice with VoDSL. VoDSL
provides up to 16 phone lines with high-speed Internet access over a single
DSL connection. It significantly reduces the complexity and expense of

Mapletree Announces High Density CPCI Remote Access Card
Mapletree Networks announced the MTN5000 CompactPCI remote access
card for service provider and carrier class OEMs. Based on Mapletree's
UniPorte architecture, the MTN5000 features 168 56K/ISDN remote access
ports. Each port can be dynamically configured to handle a wide variety of
incoming subscriber calls, including V.90, 56K, Basic Rate ISDN, and both

Blue Wave Adds To ComStruct DSP resource boards
Blue Wave Systems has added the new CPCI/C6402-3 to its line of
ComStruct DSP resource boards. The new high-performance Compact PCI board
provides a cost-effective, flexible, and scalable single-slot DSP platform
for the development of a wide range of wireline and wireless voice and data
