Telcordia Intros Sapphyre Loop Qualification Service
Telcordia Technologies announced the availability of Sapphyre Loop
Qualification Service, a solution designed for carriers and Internet Service Providers
(ISPs) seeking entry to the emerging market for DSL services. With Sapphyre, service
providers can obtain qualification results for integral broadband technologies such as
Universal DSL, ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, and HDSL. Sapphyre Loop Qualification also acts as a tool
for service providers to gauge market potential for DSL services, so the provider can
eliminate the guesswork of pre-qualifying looping for customers who may or may not request
DSL in the future. Sapphyre uses a Telcordia-developed technology to enable service
providers to test the DSL capability of a customer's loop based on a modem call placed by
the customer to a Sapphyre service site.
