Cyclone Power Technologies Successfully Completes Testing of Ethanol in Green Revolution Engine

By Stefania Viscusi, TMCnet Assistant Editor

Alternative fuels are increasingly important for reducing our dependency on foreign fuels as well as a way to reduce the impact of Co2 emissions on our environment.

Fuels derived from corn, orange peels and chicken fat, for example, have proven efficient and practical for this cause.

Cyclone Power Technologies, the creator of the Green Revolution Engine, plans to take this another step further with an environmentally-friendly and highly-efficient external combustion, heat-regenerative engine.

The engine boasts the ability to run cleaner and cooler than traditional internal combustion engines by recycling its own heat.

Cyclone began conducting tests by burning various types of alternative fuel including fuel derived from palm oil, cotton seed oil and chicken fat.

These fuels were burned successfully with a clear blue flames and no noticeable residue left on the fuel injector.

Cyclone also reported the successful burning of d-Limonene, fuel made from orange peels.

Most recently, Cyclone announced the success of their third test, the burning of different variations of Ethanol (alternative fuel made from corn). These fuels included 100% Ethanol, E-85 and E-10.

This testing also yielded successful results, as with the prior alternative fuels tested, the fuels burned clean and left no noticeable residue from the fuel injector.

What is most significant about all of the various alternative fuels tested in their engine is that although the fuels have very different chemical compositions and consistency, as well as BTU levels, all of the tests were successful without the need to ever modify the Cyclone engine or its fuel injector.

"Imagine a future where gas stations not only dispense traditional fuels derived from foreign oil, but also alternative fuels made from American-grown corn, oranges and vegetable oil. Someone with a Cyclone engine could choose to fill-up on any of those fuels, thereby helping the environment and their wallet," explained Wilson McQueen, Cyclone's VP of Sales & Marketing.
