North American-based alternative fuel resource Heartland Energy group made quite an announcement this week, as its plans to brand, trademark and market their version of E85 have come to fruition. The biofuel supporter has launched their new ethanol brand name, HE85 and has entered into an agreement with Casella & Casella, LLP for trademark filing.

 

E85, which is an alcohol mixture of 85 percent ethanol and 10 percent gasoline, is generally used in modified engines known as flexible-fuel engines which accept higher concentrations of ethanol. E85 has become more prevalent in current news, as its been touted as the latest alternative to fossil fuels, particularly in the political sector. Lobbyists and organizations are calling for a widespread adoption of E85 not only because of its environmentally-friendly nature, but also to decrease the nation’s dependency on foreign fuels.

 

Heartland Energy Group is developing a national marketing campaign that they plan to launch upon approval of the trademark and intends to put alternative fuel sections in independent gas stations across the country. The trademark will create asset protection for their future marketing of the Heartland Alternative Fuel line-up and are set to co-inside with the Branding Package currently in development.

 

According to officials at Heartland Energy Group, the feedback has been positive in their marketing initiative.

 

Recently, The Big Three (General Motors, DaimlerChrysler and Ford) met with President Bush to bare the truth about the use of alternative fuels. Concerned about the lack of distribution of E85, the motor company giants made a plea an effort to put the pressure on Congress to make more available renewable fuels, such as E85.

 

For Heartland Energy Group, the goal is the same: to not only heighten awareness of E85, but to make it more commercially available to the public across the nation.
