Westcon Group Offers Google Enterprise Search Appliance in Brazil

Westcon Group, provider of networking, security, mobility and convergence solutions, has added Google's (News - Alert) Enterprise product line to its portfolio in Brazil.
 
Google's search appliance is a rack space unit that enables companies to search their internal corporate networks more efficiently.
 
With the help of Google search appliance, the time required to locate any type of document within the corporate network is cut down notably, without violating any established security provisions. A variety of institutions, governments and other business enterprises use deploy the solution to enhance network efficiency, and it is also used to help customers to find goods and services.
 
Otavio Lazarini Barbosa, general manager for Westcon in Latin America, said that adding Google's Enterprise product line to its portfolio means Westcon can help resellers deliver a comprehensive search capability so companies of all sizes and profiles can more efficiently handle their internal data.
 
Barbosa added that Google's hardware appliances fully complement other networking infrastructure solutions carried by Westcon from companies like Nortel (News - Alert) and Cisco so this can be a perfect add-on to an existing sale as well. 
 
Apart from in-person sales and technical seminars, Westcon is offering the registrants of ConvergencePoint (News - Alert) with training on how to use the Google appliances.
 
The Google Enterprise product line is suitable for both small and large companies, with the Google Mini having a capability to search 50,000 to 300,000 documents, and the more efficient variants of the Google appliance being able to track up to 30 million documents.
 
Clifton Ashley, sales director of Google in Latin America, commented that the company chose to work with Westcon in Brazil because of that company's proven leadership role in networking distribution.
