Milius is a member of several industry organizations including the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, the Society of Broadcast Engineers, and the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. In 1992, he received the McGraw-Hill Presidents Award for excellence in management, and has also received several silver and gold awards for commercial production. In 2004 he was honored with a Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award for design and construction of the Starz broadcast facility.
