1E Nomad 2012's New Features Guarantee Fastest Possible Windows XP to Windows 7 and 8 Migrations
LONDON & NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--
the global leader in IT efficiency software, today announces the release
of 1E Nomad
2012 version 5.0 with two new features, FanOut and Single Site
Nomad 2012 is a software solution for Microsoft (News - Alert) System Center 2007 and
2012 that provides organizations the ability to optimize the
distribution of software and patches across their networks without the
requirement for any additional servers or appliances. Nomad 2012's new
functionality ensures that companies can now complete Windows XP to
Windows 7 or 8 migrations in the fastest possible time.
FanOut's new many-to-many method of peer-to-peer communication
allows data transfer to happen in a fully connected or "spider web"
manner across the local network. With algorithmic optimization, FanOut
is far more efficient than linear topologies or "daisy chain" methods,
which actually slow down software deployments and OS migrations.
1E has tested FanOut with real world customers over the past six months
and found it to be at least three times faster than with previous
versions of Nomad. These benefits are exhibited through clients starting
deployments faster, shorter deployment duration and the completion time
for total end-to-end Windows 7 and 8 migrations, software deployments,
and patches significantly reduced.
Single Site Download allows large, complex organizations to
effectively flatten and remove complexity from their network
infrastructure by grouping physical networks (including subnets) into
logical sites and locations.
Requiring no additional servers or management consoles, IT staff or
third-party vendors can integrate SSD features into their network
services to allow their network to dynamically organize itself. Through
SSD, organizations using Microsoft Configuration Manager can optimize
WAN traffic even further to not only have systems management traffic
back off to the business traffic, but, at the same time, ensure that
important data is distributed to remote locations with no impediments.
"Nomad 2012 has a great track record of success within many of the
world's largest organizations, 1E has now improved Nomad 2012 even
further to bring the most advanced Systems Management (News - Alert) features to market
for bandwidth management, server infrastructure and OSD automation,"
says Sumir Karayi, CEO of 1E. "Already a world leader for the fastest
Windows 7 migrations with customers reporting more than 30,000 OS
deployments a month, we are now able to significantly improve on this
rate with Nomad 2012's new functionality and ensure companies can
complete their migration before April 2014 when Extended Support for
Windows XP expires."
Already companies like Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Saint-Gobain and Dell (News - Alert)
have drastically reduced their server infrastructure with Nomad by
leveraging its bandwidth savings and peer-to peer distribution methods.
