Apple to Sell iPad Mini with Cellular in China


Jan 11, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) will start selling iPad mini with Cellular in mainland China at the end of January, according to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The company has begun selling iPad mini with Wi-Fi and iPad 4 in China on December 7, 2012.

Cook thought that China would become one of the biggest markets of Apple, and the company would open 25 new retail stores in the country. Greater China region (mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) has become the second largest market of Apple and contributed 15% to the company's revenue in the 2012 fiscal year.



Cook said during an interview yesterday that he highly expected mainland China to become one of the regions receiving the first batch of Apple's products, and it would be one of the major tasks of the CEO to stive to coordinate with China's product examination department to shorten the time lag between mainland China and other markets in launching products.
