SANTA CLARA, CA, Dec 18, 2012 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- WhiteHat Security, the Web security company, today announced that Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Fohn has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie(R) Award in the Female Executive of the Year -- Business Products with 11 to 2,500 Employees -- category in the 9th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, and the organizations they run.

All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations -- public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2012 awards received entries from 17 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented to winners during a dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

More than 1,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year, among others.

WhiteHat Security's Stephanie Fohn won in the Female Executive of the Year category for Business Products with 11-2,500 employees.

Fohn joined WhiteHat Security in 2004 and immediately began to showcase her excellent leadership skills. She has led the company to a strong position in the Web security industry. Additionally, the company doubled its headcount over the past year, tripled the size of its corporate headquarters in Santa Clara, and expanded its Engineering and Threat Research Center satellite office in Houston.

"Stephanie is an outstanding leader and has brought amazing success to WhiteHat since she joined the company 8 years ago. She is not only a smart executive, but a strong role model who is passionate about building a successful company that is dedicated to each and every team member," said Brian Mulvey, vice president, Investor Growth Capital, a WhiteHat Security investor. "I'd like to congratulate Stephanie on this well-deserved award and I look forward to seeing her continued positive influence on WhiteHat and Silicon Valley." Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.
