Retina-X Studios Releases PhoneSheriff Version 2.0Dec 17, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Retina-X Studios announced the launch of PhoneSheriff 2.0, a mobile parental control and filtering software compatible with smartphones. According to a release, the software allows parents to monitor and block anything their child does on their smartphone. PhoneSheriff now includes real time GPS tracking on a map in an entirely new interface. The hybrid system has won the 2013 TopTenReviews.com Gold Award for two consecutive years. According to the Pew Research Center, 75 percent of all teens ages 12-17 now have a mobile phone. They report that half of all teens send at least 50 text messages daily, and one in every three sends at least 100 text messages each day. With the rise of sexting (sexual texts), coupled with mobile phones being used for bullying, and by predators, many parents can benefit by turning to PhoneSheriff 2.0. "The number of teens using phones is on the rise, and so is the number of ways that they are using them," explains Craig Thompson, spokesperson of Retina-X Studios. "Parents may feel they are at a loss in keeping tabs on them, but with our software they maintain all the control they need in order to help keep their child safe and out of trouble." Employers also turn to PhoneSheriff 2.0 in an effort to monitor the phones they provide to their employees. It provides them an opportunity to ensure they are conducting business on the phone, and that they are not engaging in such things as viewing pornography. Employers find that it helps to improve productivity and accountability, as they can keep a closer watch on where their employers are and what they are up to on company time, company said. "Most parents want their teen to have a phone if only for having the ability to reach them at all times," adds Thompson. "But there are so many issues that can come up it just makes sense to use a monitoring software. It puts to rest all the questions and finger crossing that they are doing the right thing with their phone."
