New Zealand : VODAFONE NZ switches to new cell site at OPHIR [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Vodafone New Zealand has moved on a recently constructed cell site at Ophir under the government's Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI). The tower will supply new coverage to more than 290 households in the region. There is one other RBI site intended to be constructed in the Central Otago area, and Naseby will be put up in 2013.



Vodafone confirms two of the current sites in the region have already been modernized to offer the wireless broadband service Clyde and Springvale. The others Tarras, Cromwell, Obelisk, Roxburgh and Ranfurly are slated to be done prior to 2015.

Vodafone's wireless broadband and calling plans begin at NZD 100 per month for 5 GB of data. The plans has a standard per minute calling plan, which comprises unlimited local calling and national calls of NZD 0.26 per minute, capped at NZD 2.50 per call. Calls to New Zealand mobiles cost NZD 0.36 per minute.
