Alcatel-Lucent wins 2012 'Broadband Innovation of the Year' title in Telecom Asia Readers' Choice Awards

Alcatel-Lucent(Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) has been publicly honoured for its role inextending access to fast broadband services in Asia by being awarded the title'2012 Broadband Innovation of the Year' in the Fifth Telecom Asia Reader'sChoice Awards in Kuala Lumpur. This annual industry event recognizesinnovations and contributions to the industry by the top telecom vendorsoperating in the Asia-Pacific region.
In presenting the award, Telecom Asia praised Alcatel-Lucent for thecommercial introduction of its VDSL2 Vectoring technology. The official awardcitation read: "Alcatel-Lucent was the first to announce acommercially-available VDSL2 Vectoring solution in September 2011, and has atrack record of six commercial VDSL2 Vectoring contracts to date (includingBelgacom and Telekom Austria), and trials with more than 20 service providersaround the world. Alcatel-Lucent's VDSL2 Vectoring technology builds on thecompany's ISAM family of fixed access products, which has already been deployedby more than 250 service providers, and supports more than 90 VDSL2projects."
